Jean Paul Gaultier Revamps Fizzy Drink Bottles With Glamorous Makeover

Coca Cola Couture: Diet Coke Gets A Fashion Makeover

Fizzy drinks usually hit the headlines because of their health hazards and sky-high sugar content. However, Diet Coke and Coca Cola are making waves for a whole other reason... they've been given a couture makeover.

Fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier has given everyone’s favourite fizzy drink a glam new look – complete with corsetry, fishnet stockings and nautical sailor stripes.

Inspired by the iconic designer’s signature perfume scents Classique and Le Male, the new-look Diet Coke bottles have been given a sexy silhouette – a world away from the usual drab grey and red branded tins and bottles.

Jean’s muse? Step in British actress Gemma Arterton, who wore a Gaultier-esque clinging corset for the launch.

And it’s not just Diet Coke bottle which have gotten a whole new look – Coca Cola Light bottles have also bagged stylists in the shape of fashion heavyweights Versace, Moschino and Missoni to name a few.

Although you can now treat yourself to a Gaultier-designed tipple (you’ll find them stocked at Harvey Nichols) the other couture bottles aren’t available in the UK anymore (they launched in 2009 as part of a Tribute to Fashion charity project).
