Super Mario is back, with Mario Kart 7. Who amongst you will put down Angry Birds and pick up the 'Kart?

Here's what they're saying around the web.

Nowgamer: "To call it the best original game on 3DS might be overstretching the meaning of the word ‘original’ but, all the same, this is something that no 3DS owner should be without."

Wired: "Here is the best thing about Mario Kart 7: This time, Nintendo didn’t screw it up."

Famitsu: "The game's made so you're always able to stage a comeback, making it approachable and enjoyable for anyone," noted one reviewer (translation via 1Up).

Guardian: "You can put cute little button eyes on an explosive device and call it a Bob-omb, but it's still going to blast you to wet, fleshy shards. The same goes for kart racers."

Gamerant: "There should be no concerns regarding the game’s quality, because it’s still the same Mario Kart experience that fans have always enjoyed – with a few minor tweaks that make the game even more enjoyable. Of course, that doesn’t make it a flawless experience, but it’s still a great game for the handheld."

Joystiq: "Mario Kart 7 is, as its predecessors always have been, an exceedingly hateful game. Three laps' worth of perfect corner negotiation, aggressive drafting and creating enough sparks to manufacture a small sun can be overturned instantly, sometimes in sight of the finish line. Who am I kidding? It is always in sight of the finish line, and it's always Toad, an innocuous-looking bastard who's caused me to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory more times than I could ever hope to count. (Estimated guess, though: A hundred billion.)"
