Wondering how on earth we could waste so much time taking pics of er, ourselves? Well, according to the study conducted on 1,400 British women aged between 18 and 30, it's all down to wanting to look our best.

The results from The Body Shop's survey found these are the top five things we spend the most time on:

1. Choosing soft or moody lighting (51)

3. Adopting a 'slimming' body pose (46)

5. 'Smizing' or smiling with our eyes, as advocated by supermodel Tyra Banks

And, if you're living in Belfast, congratulations! You are officially the selfie capital of the United Kingdom, with 84 and 73 of us.
