Pippa Middleton Has Investigated Whether Oysters Are Truly Aphrodisiacs So You Don't Have To

After she put herself through a hydra-spinning (that's cycling underwater) session in November, Pippa Middleton has found a new subject to write about for her latest Telegraph column.

Pippa's been tasting oysters. Why? To find out if they really are an aphrodisiac.

As enrolling in a course in oysterology is one of the last things most of us would ever want to do, it must be said - Pippa is really taking one for the team here.

So, Pippa made the trip to see Mark Stubbs, head chef at Wheelers Oyster Bar in Whitstable to "to learn more about the oyster's romantic potential" ahead of Valentine's Day.

After a lesson in how to shuck the shellfish with "a stubby oyster knife and two tea towels," the answer to Pippa's question was made clear.

Are oysters aphrodisiacs? No, but there is a benefit to eating them. "It's the amino acids and serotonin [a neurotransmitter released in the brain] in oysters that give you the feel-good factor," Mark told Pippa.

No prizes for guessing what Pippa and Nico will be eating on Valentine's Day this year...
