We realise Kate Middleton isn't the first woman in Britain to have a baby (although listening to the hype, you'd be forgiven for thinking otherwise), but despite being royalty, there are still some pieces of universal baby advice that will ring true.

The first few weeks are utterly overwhelming let alone with an entire nation peering through their windows, but the cornerstone of advice revolves around patience, sleep (when you can get it) and communication with your partner.
