Google Co-Founder Sergey Brin Meets Edward Snowden, Via Robot

Google Founder Meets Robot Containing Essence Of Edward Snowden
|

Google co-founder made a new acquaintance at the recent TED conference in Vancouver, Canada: NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden.

Of course Snowden is still in Moscow, after becoming a wanted man in the US following his revelations of government surveillance of the internet.

But thanks to telepresence robots, and the tolerance of TED attendees for slightly-rubbish communications tech, he was still able to bump into Brin in the corridor:

Google has called for greater reforms to government surveillance following Snowden's revelations that agents had direct access to its servers.

Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt has pledged to use encryption technology to try and counter internet censorship.

Snowden himself has also called for companies like Google to do more to keep government agencies out of their servers and protect customers and their data from snooping.
