Blair Jenkins OBE has been Director of Broadcasting at Scottish Television (STV), and Head of News and Current Affairs at both STV and BBC Scotland. He chaired the Scottish Broadcasting Commis­sion in 2007-8 and more recently the Scottish Digital Network Panel. In 2010 he was made an OBE for services to broadcasting.

We need to set the bar a bit higher. A new ethical code would help to define the profession of journalism. This has become ever more important as media platforms converge and more and more new entrants arrive to challenge traditional news suppliers.
