Dr Helen Beaumont’s personal experience of dementia led her to complete a PhD using MR scans to look for signs of Frontotemporal Dementia and her findings have shown that it is possible to detect it by examining the amount and location of fluid in the brain. She continues to works in research at the University of Manchester.
