Also up for gongs are RuPaul’s Drag Race star Michelle Visage, Fleabag actor Andrew Scott, Killing Eve actress Jodie Comer, Pose star Billy Porter and model Cara Delevingne.

Nominated for the Sports Personality Award is former Welsh International Rugby Player Gareth Thomas, who revealed he was HIV positive last year. He is nominated alongside transgender British racing car driver, Charlie Martin.

Also featured is MTV’s True Love or True Lies, hosted by father-daughter duo, Danny and Danni Dyer, which is nominated in the Media Moment category alongside the BBC’s Gentleman Jack and Strictly Come Dancing, which featured its first same-sex dance routine last November.

Sarah Garrett, MBE, British LGBT Awards founder, said: “A really exciting mix of some of the world’s most deserving LGBT+ people, allies and organisations have been nominated this year.

“These awards shine a light on those who stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the LGBT+ community during uncertain and challenging times. The nominees are all role models who have demonstrated an ongoing commitment to raising awareness of, or advancing, LGBT+ rights.”

The winners will be announced at a glitzy ceremony held in London on 29 May.
