Buffalo On The Loose Leads To Armed Police Being Called To Village in Stafford

One man suffered a serious leg injury.

Armed police had to be called after a water buffalo went on the rampage in Staffordshire on Monday.

A man suffered a serious leg injury after the creature managed to escape from a farm in Seighford, near Stafford.

The victim had to be taken to hospital after he was knocked over by the rampaging animal near a primary school, Sky News reported.

Staffordshire Police warned parents due to collect their children that there were armed officers in the area although stressed that they were not in danger.

The scene ended when the buffalo was was killed by a licensed slaughter man.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said that they were called to the scene where they were able to treat the victim.

He said: "The two paramedics administered treatment on scene to stabilise his condition before taking him to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further assessment and treatment."
