Canary Wharf Offices Evacuated Over 'Suspicious Vehicle' Near South Quay Station

'A credible bomb threat.'

Hundreds of workers have been evacuated from offices near Canary Wharf after reports of a suspicious vehicle.

Buildings near South Quay station on the Isle of Dogs have been cleared after reports of a suspicious vehicle on a plaza, according to the Evening Standard.

As many as four office blocks were said to have been evacuated, according to reports from the scene. The officers are said to be near Canary Wharf Estate, rather than within it.

Pictures at the scene show roads near the station cordoned off and office workers standing outside.

One man told the Standard that people had been ordered back onto trains at South Quay station because of a police incident.

DLR Line tweeted that there was "no service Canary Wharf to Mudchute while we help the police respond to a security alert".

Police have not yet issued a statement on the incident.
