Strictly Come Dancing star Craig Revel Horwood has brushed off former professional James Jordan’s criticism of the judging during this year’s series.

The two have swapped digs at one another multiple times in the past, with James once again calling the judges’ comments into question over the course of the last nine weeks.

Following Saturday’s final, James – who was axed from Strictly in 2014 – praised the cast and crew, but couldn’t resist a swipe at the panel.

“[Strictly] gave us all some needed joy,” James tweeted on Saturday night. “All the pros and celebs have been brilliant and worked their socks of to entertain us all.

“The hair, makeup and costume team and everyone behind the scenes. However, the judges need a bit of improvement.”

“He would say that,” Craig told OK! of James’ jibes. “Honestly, we won’t make amends until he stops slagging me off!

“His comments and scores on Twitter always tally up with mine. He thinks the same as I do and it makes me laugh because he clearly wants my job!”

On whether he sees a spot on the panel in James’ future, Craig continued: “Not in a million years. He’s too bitter, he’s too twisted!”

Craig did concede that he and James would probably “have a laugh” if they were to judge Strictly together, though, adding: “I’d put him in his place!”

The most recent series of Strictly wrapped over the weekend, with comedian Bill Bailey being awarded the Glitterball trophy.

James seemed pretty pleased with the result at the time, congratulating him on Twitter, despite having been more of a HRVY and Maisie Smith fan in the lead-up to the final.

Bill’s win is a special one as it marked the first time a professional dancer has won the show two years in a row, with that honour falling to fan favourite Oti Mabuse.

Since leaving Strictly, James has appeared in multiple other reality shows, including Dancing On Ice, which he went on to win, and two series of Celebrity Big Brother.
