‘EastEnders’ Spoilers: Barbara Windsor Could Return As Peggy Mitchell, Despite Being Killed Off

Why let a little thing like being killed off get in the way, eh?

It seems that being killed off isn’t enough to stop Dame Barbara Windsor from returning to ‘EastEnders’, as the actress has revealed that she’d love to go back and star as a ghost Peggy Mitchell.

Viewers saw Peggy die in emotional scenes earlier this year, but Babs’ soap career may not be over just yet.

Speaking to The Sun, she explains: “I would love Peggy to come back on as a ghost — I’d definitely be up for it.

“I’d love that as I’d have been able to have had a rest for a little bit.

“I’m going to have to talk to the producers so they can find a way of doing that. I’m still in touch with them all so it would be easy.

“When I went back for my last scenes I said, ‘I’ll get Grant back for you’, and of course he came back, didn’t he?”

He did indeed.

Peggy’s last scenes also saw the return of Pam St. Clement, as the ghost of Pat Butcher, so there’s no real reason why Barbara couldn’t do the same one day.

It’d certainly give Phil a fright, wouldn’t it?

There’s been plenty of drama for the Mitchells in recent weeks, including a kidnap plot, which followed when Ben’s big revenge plan went wrong.

Grant also got a shock in Tuesday (6 September) night’s show, when he finally found out about his secret son. Don’t worry though Grant, it only took you 21 years…
