The Friends Reunion Finally Has A New Date – And Fans Are Delighted

Could we BE anymore excited for 2021?

The long-awaited Friends reunion finally has a new date. 

Matthew Perry, who played Chandler Bing in the iconic sitcom, has confirmed the cast get-together will now be taking place in March 2021. 

The actor had due to reunite with Jennifer AnistonCourteney CoxLisa KudrowMatt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer for a TV special looking back at 25 years of Friends in May.

However, plans were thrown into chaos after the coronavirus outbreak, and filming was later rescheduled to August only to be cancelled again. 

But writing on Twitter on Thursday, Matthew confirmed plans are now afoot to film the show next year. 

He said: “Friends reunion being rescheduled for the beginning of March. Looks like we have a busy year coming up. And that’s the way I like it!” 

Cue lots of excitable reactions from the show’s loyal fanbase...

The unscripted special will see the show’s cast returning to the soundstage on which Friends was filmed, reflecting on the sitcom’s global impact and best moments.

It will be directed by Ben Winston, best known for his work alongside James Corden on The Late, Late Show.

Friends ran for 10 seasons from 1994 and remains one of the most popular shows on TV.

It is currently airing on Comedy Central in the UK, as well as streaming on Netflix, following its debut on the streaming platform in 2018.
