Gatwick Airport Resumes Flights Following Problem With Air Traffic Control

The airport has advised passengers to check flight information with airlines.

All flights have resumed at Gatwick Airport following an earlier issue in its control tower.

The airport apologised for an earlier suspension, which began just after 5pm and lasted two hours.

The London airport tweeted: “Following an earlier air traffic control systems issue, flights to and from Gatwick have now resumed.

Due to an air traffic control systems issue in Gatwick’s control tower, flights are currently suspended. We are working with ANS, our air traffic control provider, to rectify this issue as quickly as possible.

Update 19.10: Following an earlier air traffic control systems issue, flights to and from Gatwick have now resumed. If you are travelling this evening please check the status of your flight with your airline before travelling to the airport, as we return to full operations.

Gatwick’s website is showing some flights have been diverted to other airports.
