Jennifer Aniston has admitted she recently considered quitting Hollywood after completing a job that “sucked the life” out of her.

The former Friends star said that she had thought more about leaving the industry over the last two years during a an interview with fellow actors Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, and Sean Hayes on their Smartless podcast.

When asked about the closest she’d ever come to leaving Hollywood behind, Jennifer said: “I would have to say the last two years that has crossed my mind, which it never did before.”

She said it came after working on one project where “the script wasn’t ready” and she was stuck on it for three months.

“It was after a job I had completed and I was like, ‘Whoa, that was really… that sucked the life out of me. And I don’t know if this is what interests me,’” Jennifer said.

“It was an unprepared project, we’ve all been a part of them. You always say: ‘I’ll never again! Never again! I will never back up into a start date!’”

Jennifer did not name the project, but noted that it was prior to her role as Alex Levy in Apple TV+’s The Morning Show, for which she won a Screen Actors Guild Award earlier this year.

She also told Jason that she would be keen to do more directing, adding: “I would love to jump into that chair more. I enjoy it thoroughly.”

Jennifer’s most famous acting role is undoubtedly Rachel Green in Friends, who she played from 1994 to 2004.

However, last week, supporting star Jane Sibbett revealed she was originally in the frame to play Rachel.

The actor, who ended up playing Ross’ ex-wife Carol, revealed things didn’t work out because she was pregnant at the time, with Jennifer later awarded the part.

Jennifer had been due to reunite with co-stars Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Matthew Perry earlier this year to film a TV special celebrating 25 years of Friends.

However, the retrospective has now been pushed back for a second time due to the coronavirus pandemic.
