Killing Eve's Sandra Oh Teases 'Darker' New Episodes At Show's US Premiere

Fans in the States get to see series two this month – but we have to wait until the summer.

Sandra Oh has teased what we can expect from series two of Killing Eve, promising that the new episodes are even “darker” than the first set.

The hit show will return to our screens this summer (though our American pals get to see it this week...) and Sandra’s character Eve Polastri will one again be “pushed to the limit”.

Speaking at the season two premiere in Los Angeles on Monday, the Emmy-winning actress told the Press Association: “For me, for Eve, it’s definitely about going darker, really going darker.

“In some ways, it’s like in season one Eve is kind of opening up and beginning to figure things out and season two is going right down.

“It’s almost like season one she’s like ‘there’s some kind of rabbit hole, what is that?’. She plunges into it in season two.”

Sandra added that it was difficult exploring the darker sides of her character but ultimately professionally rewarding.

“It’s really, really hard,” she said. “And it’s extremely satisfying in a way where you’re challenged and you’re stretched and I think, at least for me as an actor, that’s just what you want to explore – the limits of where you can go.”

Season two will also see the return of Fiona Shaw as Eve’s Mi5 colleague Carolyn Martens.

As well as winning an Emmy for her portrayal of Mi5 agent Eve, Sandra was victorious at the Golden Globes, while both her and co-star Jodie Comer are up for Best Actress at the TV Baftas.

The TV Baftas shortlist, announced last week, saw Killing Eve become the most-nominated show of 2019, thanks to a slight bending of the rules to allow the drama eligibility in extra categories
