Kimberley Walsh has dropped the biggest hint yet that Girls Aloud could be set to reunite.

The singer has admitted the band are “feeling pressure from the outside” to reform for their 20th anniversary in 2022.

The girl band were formed on Popstars: The Rivals in 2002, which saw them battle it out with boy band One True Voice for the Christmas number one.

Girls Aloud went on to have a hugely successful career before calling time on the band in 2012 on the final night of their Ten tour.

But speaking on The One Show, Kimberley suggested we could be seeing her with Cheryl Tweedy, Sarah Harding, Nadine Coyle and Nicola Roberts again soon.

She told hosts Alex Jones and Gethin Jones: “It’s 20 years in 2022 so we’re feeling a bit of outside pressure now.

“People keep asking if we’re making any plans and we actually haven’t made any yet, but we’re definitely feeling a bit of pressure from the outside so you never know.”

Just last week, Kimberley admitted she and Nadine had healed their so-called rift after lockdown gave them time to “reflect”.

She told OK magazine: “I speak to Cheryl and Nicola all the time anyway, but I have been in touch with Nadine and Sarah too.

“Lockdown has been a time for reflection. Nadine and I were chatting the other day and we’re going to get the kids together as they haven’t met yet.”

Since the band split, Kimberley, Nicola and Cheryl have remained close friends, regularly posting about each other on social media, whereas Nadine and Sarah have led largely separate lives from the rest of the group.

In 2017, Nadine admitted she now felt “indifferent” towards the rest of the group telling HuffPost UK: “In an ideal world, we would be all great friends, and it would be a great thing… but I’m really supportive of things that they do, and you can’t help but feel happy for somebody when something great happens, you know, they have a baby or, you know, great things!”

During an appearance on I’m A Celebrity last year, Nadine also claimed reports of a feud between her and Cheryl were “fake news” and insisted she loved being part of the group.
