A man has been charged with murder after a 24-year-old died of multiple stab wounds in Solihull, West Midlands.

Leneto Kellengbeck died shortly after police and paramedics were called to the Smith’s Wood area of Solihull on March 29.

West Midlands Police have now charged Demus Marcus, 24, of no fixed address, with murder and possession of an offensive weapon.

He was due to appear before Birmingham Magistrates’ Court today (Saturday April 20).

Detective Inspector Jim Colclough, from the force’s homicide team, said: “My thoughts continue to remain with Leneto’s family who have of course been kept fully updated about this development.”

In a statement after her son’s death, Kellengbeck’s mother Jasmine said:

“Suddenly, my world has been turned upside down since my precious son became another victim of this dreaded knife crime.”

She added that her son, known to friends as Lenny, was “kind and thoughtful, and not the type of person who would just think of himself”.
