Lindt’s White Chocolate Easter Egg Has Been Voted The Best Of 2019, According To Good Housekeeping

Controversial.

With chocolate lining the supermarkets shelves as far as the eye can see, one things for sure: Easter is coming.

Whether you’re looking to treat someone (or yourself) Good Housekeeping has revealed the results of its annual hunt for the best Easter eggs on the market – and, somewhat controversially, a white chocolate egg has been voted the best of 2019.

Lindt’s White Chocolate Egg with Lindor White Chocolate Truffles was voted the overall winner, coming out on top of the 226 Easter eggs tested by the dedicated (and very lucky) tasters. The winner was praised for its “balanced sweetness, subtle caramel flavour and creamy truffles”.

It’s so decadent you’ll definitely need a giant mug of tea to wash that down. The only downside? It costs a whopping £8.

If you don’t have nearly a tenner to spend on an egg that will be devoured in less than a week, then Aldi’s £4.99 Moser Roth Egg Box (currently only available in store) is the next best thing. Coming in second place overall, it took the top prize in the ‘Little Treats’ category, with its selection of dark, praline and salted caramel sweet treats.

Other top contenders included Heston from Waitrose’s Chocolate Teapot, costing an extortionate £20, which won in the ‘Novelty’ category thanks to its tea flavoured sugar cube truffles, if that tickles your taste buds.

The ‘Best Milk’ award went to Thorntons for its Hazelnut and Almond Easter Egg, £12.90, and Holdsworth’s Milk and White Chocolate Strawberry Popping Candy Egg, at £15, earned the number one spot in the ‘Boozy’ category for its Champagne truffles.

Is anyone else suddenly peckish?
