Lorraine Kelly Becomes Drag Queen Morning Gloria For Iconic Attitude Magazine Shoot

The daytime TV star previously appeared on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK to play Snatch Game.

The actress who plays Lorraine Kelly has turned her hand to a new role, transforming herself into a drag queen for a new photo-shoot.

Lorraine dragged up for LGBTQ magazine Attitude’s latest issue, which celebrates queer activists and allies.

In the cover shoot, the daytime star sports a look inspired by Queen Elizabeth I, taking on the persona of her drag character Morning Gloria (see what she did there?).

The photo shoot comes off the back of her appearance on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, where she was one of the celebrity guests on Snatch Game.

Explaining why she wanted to become a queen herself, she told the magazine: “It’s like you’re a supercharged version of yourself. You’re still you but you can sort of be someone else, which is great.

“There is a little show-off inside that I keep damping down, and today that show-off is allowed to come out and that’s empowering.

“It’s like the really naughty rebel, which I was in my teenage years, came out to play. And I never thought with the size of my bottom that I’d need padding but it was amazing how it really accentuated my figure!”

In the interview, Lorraine also took aim at Conservative MP Esther McVey again over her stance on LGBTQ issues.

Lorraine had already made her feelings clear on her former GMTV co-presenter during Esther’s appearance on Good Morning Britain earlier this year, while she was in the running for the Tory leadership contest.

Speaking about how she thinks society is regressing, Lorraine said: “It’s like the way the Labour Party is tackling the whole thing about anti-Semitism, it’s wrong. And you’ve got people like Esther McVey and Ann Widdecombe with their stance on the whole LGBTQ community, which is wrong.

“I don’t find that political, I just find that this is either right, or it isn’t. My point of view is that if something’s unjust, or not right, you should call it.”

In an accompanying video, Lorraine also branded Tory MP McVey a “ghastly woman”.

Attitude editor Cliff Joannou said he was “super excited” to have Lorraine on the cover of the magazine.

“She’s a long time ally of ours, she’s always standing up for the community and she’s an Attitude award winner,” he said.

“Morning Gloria is incredible, almost quite scary. The way she’s transformed from lovely daytime Lorraine!”
