Madeleine McCann's Mother Closes Down Online Fundraising Shop

Kate McCann cited "many commitments and pressures".

The mother of Madeleine McCann has closed down an online store which helped raise funds to support the search of her disappeared daughter.

Kate McCann left a message on the shop section of the Find Madeleine website, informing visitors that she could no longer fulfill orders “due to many commitments and pressures”.

The message read: “Unfortunately due to many commitments and pressures, I am unable at this time to attend to website orders. We greatly appreciate your support.

“Thank you to everyone who has kindly donated to Madeleine’s Fund through our Online Store.

“Your support means a lot to us. Your kindness and generosity is no less appreciated however and continues to buoy us up. Thank you again.”

She added that supporters could still donate to the fund through other means.

Some £11 million has already been spent on the police investigation into the toddler’s disappearance launched in 2011, named Operation Grange.

She went missing in May 2007 from the Praia da Luz resort in the Algarve, Portugal while on holiday with her parents and younger siblings, and was days away from celebrating her fourth birthday when she vanished.

Parents Kate and Gerry McCann, of Rothley, Leicestershire, have vowed never to give up hope of finding their daughter, who would now be 15-years-old.
