Madonna Will Pay Tribute To Prince At Billboard Music Awards

Let's just hope it's better than Gaga's Bowie one.

Madonna is set to perform a special tribute to Prince at the 2016 Billboard Music Awards, it has been confirmed.

The annual ceremony takes place in Las Vegas on Sunday 22 May, and bosses are planning to keep the details of Madonna’s tribute to her former friend under wraps until then.

A number of other stars will also take to the stage on the night, including Justin Bieber and Demi Lovato, along with Celine Dion who is also receiving the Icon Award.

Prince’s death last month stunned the music world, and Madonna was among the many stars who paid tribute to the musician.

She shared a picture of herself with Prince on Instagram, with the caption: “He Changed The World!! A True Visionary. What a loss. I'm Devastated. This is Not A Love Song."

Madonna then shared a second tribute to Prince last week, this time on Twitter:

Its been 7 hours and 13 days since you took your love away...all the flowers you planted died when you went away...👑 pic.twitter.com/AP4JELupfc

Referencing the song 'Nothing Compares 2 U', which he wrote, she said: “Its been 7 hours and 13 days since you took your love away...all the flowers you planted died when you went away..”

Madonna and Prince collaborated on the song 'Love Song', from her 'Like A Prayer' album, with the 'Purple Rain' singer also playing guitar on the title track, though he was not credited for it.
