Stranger Things’ Millie Brown: 9 Facts In 90 Seconds On Actress Who Plays Eleven In Latest Hit For Netflix

She's scarily good.

Netflix’s latest original series, ‘Stranger Things’, has been getting rave reviews since it launched in July, but one of its stars in particular has, quite rightly, been getting a lot of attention.

Millie Brown might not say much in her role as the mysterious, telekinetic Eleven/Elle in the spooky horror drama, but she gives the far more experienced adult actors on the show a run for their money in the acting stakes. Not bad for a 12-year-old rookie.

Unsurprisingly, big things are predicted for Millie, who only took up acting for something to do at the weekend a few years ago.

Here’s everything you need to know about the hugely talented actress...

After moving to Florida in 2013, Millie started attending acting workshops at the weekends and was soon spotted by a Hollywood talent scout who told her parents that "she has instincts you cannot teach." Just three months after heading to Hollywood, Millie landed the role of young Alice in ABC’s ‘Once Upon A Time In Wonderland’ and has since gone on to star in ‘Intruders’, ‘NCIS’, ‘Grey's Anatomy’ and ‘Modern Family’.

And her mother wasn’t too happy about it when she found out, as Millie explains. “I was like ‘Mum, let’s just cut it off, it grows back, it’s not permanent and I need to show how much I’m involved with this character and how much I’m involved with the show.’ I wanted the best for the show and if that’s what I had to do, then that’s what I had to do.”
She's a huge fan of her co-star Winona Ryder
And credits her as being one of the inspirations behind her buzzcut. "Winona looked cool back in the day with the pixie cut and I thought maybe I could bring it back," Millie said.
She’s obsessed with the ‘80s, which is when 'Stranger Things' is set
“Oh, goodness. I really do wish I lived in it, though,” she said recently. “I do. I love the '80s. I'm obsessed with it. I love the hair and the people.”

She loves to work out - especially boxing
“I absolutely love it. I actually have a punching bag right outside in my garden. I'm obsessed with working out. I eat like a pig so it kind of makes up for that,” she says.
She hates sharks
“They freak me out,” she explains. “The thing is, everybody says ‘Oh, you know, you get in the water, they don't touch you. It's only if you bother them.’ And I'm like, “No! No, it isn't. They're evil!
