“I know summer isn’t over yet, but I’ve already planned to spend this weekend getting my collection of oversized coats out from the vacuum bags. In winter I live in them, and now I want to add this M&S one to my wardrobe. I love the tan colour (black or grey washes my pasty skin out), and double-breasted buttons (although my mum will hate them). And there’s something about the long-line shape that looks so classic. I’ll wear with a floral roll neck layered underneath.”

“I love a midi skirt – you can wear with tights and boots in winter, or sandals and a vest in summer. The material looks silky (and looks much more expensive than it is). Not bad for under 30 quid. I’d wear this in the upcoming months with a thick back roll neck as the cold weather rolls around!”

“For those who are cash-strapped, these boots provide the perfect middle ground between a day-to-day pair you can wear for work, and a nice pair to slip on for an evening out. The tan colour, which is verging on burnt orange, will go with pretty much anything (black tights, included) and the suede effect elevates it from your standard leather boot. I’m also a big fan of the very sensible heel and, if they’re anything like my other pair of M&S boots, they’ll be dead comfy too.”

“I really love aviator-style leather jackets. They look super stylish and go well with different autumnal outfits (jeans, tick; midi skirt, tick), but they’re still cosy and more weatherproof than the shorter biker-styles. I already own two leather jackets and have been unable to justify buying a third – until now, that is. This one is not only good value for money, but also looks like a really good fake leather. I love the brown faux fur collar and cuffs, too. Sold!”

“I have long been on the hunt for the perfect checked blazer – and I think this is the one. Rather than sticking to my usual wardrobe of black, layered with black, layered with black, I’m hoping this will smarten up my casual outfits at the office (read: jeans and t-shirt). Throw in a pair of ankle boots and that’s my upgraded autumn wardrobe sorted.”

“I’m just back from my summer holidays and, yes, I’m the one wearing a white t-shirt to show off my tan. But after two weeks at the seaside, my tired white plimsolls have seen better days. So these snappy kicks are just what I need. Fashion editors rate M&S trainers for a reason (remember when these sold out?). All the style, combined with Insolia Flex technology – or “old lady comfort” as I like to call it. Perfect for dashing about London Fashion Week – or simply eating cake in the M&S caff. You choose.”
