Just under a year on from his infamous tuxedo dress, Billy Porter pulled out all the stops as he hit the red carpet at this year’s Oscars.

In 2019, Billy made headlines when he was photographed on his way into the Academy Awards sporting an incredible outfit, made up of a traditional suit jacket and an elaborate ball-gown skirt.

The Pose actor has since earned himself a huge reputation for his over-the-top fashion choices, and we’re happy to say that he did not disappoint as he walked the Oscars red carpet, ahead of his pre-show presenting role.

Billy posed up a storm in a flowing patterned skirt on his way into the event, which he paired with a sleeveless top, made up of 24-carat gold feathers.

He completed the look with some chunky gold Jimmy Choo boots, which E!’s fashion team claimed Billy had dubbed his “lady of the night shoes”.

Billy’s tuxedo dress might be approaching its first birthday, but it’s an outfit that everyone is clearly still talking about, and he’ll soon be sporting it once again as he makes a cameo in Sesame Street.

However, although his fans all over the world are looking forward to his appearance in the long-running children’s show, some took issue with the fact he’d be wearing a dress, with some even organising a petition calling for his cameo to be scrapped entirely.

Responding to these critics earlier this week, Billy said: “If you don’t like it, don’t watch it… what about me singing with a penguin [on Sesame Street] has anything to do with what I’m doing in my bedroom?

“The really interesting thing for me is that that’s what it’s all about when it comes to LGBTQ people — the first thing everyone wants to talk about is how we having sex.”

Last month, Billy turned heads as he made his way into the Grammys, where his intricate hat also inspired one of our favourite memes of 2020.
