Pamela Anderson has confirmed that she and husband Jon Peters have split, 12 days after tying the knot.
Last month, the Baywatch star married the film producer and former hairdresser – who she has referred to in the past as the “original bad boy of Hollywood” – in a private ceremony in Malibu, California.
However, less than two weeks later, the actress has confirmed that she and Jon are taking “some time apart”.
In a statement, Pamela explained: “We would be very grateful for your support as we take some time apart to re-evaluate what we want from life and from one another.”
She continued: “Life is a journey and love is a process. With that universal truth in mind, we have mutually decided to put off the formalisation of our marriage certificate and put our faith in the process. Thank you for respecting our privacy.”
An undisclosed insider also told The Hollywood Reporter that the couple had not yet filed the legal paperwork for a marriage certificate.
In a poem she shared publicly, Pamela previously said of her husband: “We understand and respect each other... we love each other without conditions... I’m a lucky woman… [he’s] proof God has a plan.”
Pamela’s marriage is her fifth overall, having previously tied the knot with musicians Kid Rock and Tommy Lee.
She also married professional poker player Rick Salomon on two different occasions, each lasting a year – first in 2007 and again in 2014.
Jon’s film credits include Batman Returns, The Witches Of Eastwick, Man Of Steel and two different remakes of A Star Is Born.
The 74-year-old has been married four times, including to Oscar nominee Lesley Ann Warren.
