Rhian Sugden's Fiancé, Oliver Mellor, Responds To 'Split' Reports, Following Vernon Kay 'Secret' Text Messages

Oliver Mellor has hit back at claims that he’s split up with Rhian Sugden, following reports in the press that she’d been exchanging secret messages with Vernon Kay, who she was involved in a “sexting” scandal with back in 2010.

The former ‘Coronation Street’ hunk has insisted that reports he ended his relationship with the model over the rumours are untrue, sharing a photo of the two of them in bed together on his Twitter page to set the record straight.

Addressing The Mirror - the tabloid who ran the story that he’d dumped her - directly, he wrote: “If your 'story' is true then who the f##k is this in my bed??”

Over the weekend, the newspaper suggested that Oliver was “annoyed” to discover that Rhian had been back in touch with Rhian, and made the decision to break off their engagement.

A source reportedly claimed: “He was annoyed to find out she had been messaging Vernon, especially as she had kept it secret from him.

“They didn’t speak for the majority of last week as Oliver was ignoring Rhian’s calls. He was angry and had been questioning their relationship. When he eventually did pick up the phone, they had a huge row and Oliver broke up with her.

“Rhian is still hopeful they can make the relationship work when he comes home. She wants them to sit down and discuss everything face to face, but as far as Oliver is concerned, it is over.”

Meanwhile, Vernon addressed the accusations that he’d been sending racy messages to Rhian once again, setting the record straight on his Facebook page.

Addressing the speculation, the TV presenter wrote: “Regarding today’s story: I was contacted by Rhian out of the blue back in December regarding the story in 2010 claiming she had information she wanted to pass on.

“I recognise how it may look when messages are pulled out of context but there was never any inappropriate intent to our communication, I was merely trying to find answers to questions that I’ve had since 2010.

“Tess [Daly, his wife of 13 years] is aware of everything that has been discussed with Rhian.”
