The former Emmerdale actress was at the centre of a media storm last year when she falsely accused fellow CBB contestant Ryan Thomas of punching her “deliberately” and “repeatedly” in the ribs while in the house.
She has now disclosed how Piers has been someone to lean on through those difficult months.
Speaking to The Sun, Roxanne said: “Piers Morgan has been a saviour. He has been a rock to me. He’s been through a lot himself so I think he recognised the affect the hatred had on me.
“His compassion and support has kept me from going under.”
Detailing the dark period in her life, Roxanne said over the weekend: “There was no light at the end of the tunnel and I didn’t want to be here anymore. I asked God to help me. I thought: everyone hates me so why am I here?
“I just couldn’t get through a day, I had nothing and I had no one and it was all because I’d let things get out of hand. I’d ignored the signs that I needed help because I felt too proud. I only have myself to blame for that.”
Despite his well-documented dislike of reality stars, this isn’t the first time Piers has offered one his support in recent weeks.
On Monday, they had a love-in as they joined together on the ITV breakfast show, forming one of TV’s most unlikely duos.
