Strictly Come Dancing star Chris Ramsey has spoken out about claims that two stars from this year’s series are secretly in a romance behind the scenes.
Last month, multiple news outlets ran stories about a supposed secret Strictly couple, after the Daily Star claimed – brace yourself – that two unlikely stars had been “quickstepping to the bedroom” (we’re sorry, we’re so very sorry).
An insider told the newspaper: “It seems there was an attraction early in the contest. They tried hard to resist it but couldn’t hold back.”
However, when asked for his thoughts on the secret couple, Chris was very quick to shoot down the rumours.
“It’s like asking us how we feel about the unicorn that is standing outside,” he told PA news. “I have got no opinion on it because it’s not there.”
In past years, Strictly has become famous for the so-called “curse”, which has seen contestants and professionals splitting up with their long-term partners either during or shortly after the series, many of whom have ended up getting together with their dancing partners.
From last year’s final, three of the celebrities are now in a relationship with someone they met on the show, with eventual winner Stacey Dooley and finalist Joe Sugg both dating their respective dance partners, Kevin Clifton and Dianne Buswell.
Ashley Roberts is also in a relationship with professional dancer Giovanni Pernice, who was paired with Faye Tozer during last year’s series.
Sunday night’s Strictly results show will determine which stars make it through to next week’s final out of Chris, Kelvin Fletcher, Emma Barton and Karim Zeroual.
