Taylor Swift is planning to re-record her old songs after her back catalogue was bought by talent manager Scooter Braun, she has revealed.

The pair have become involved in a public row after she branded him a bully when it was revealed the master copies of her of former tracks had been sold by her former label.

Alleging she had not been told about the deal before the news was made public, Taylor accused Scooter of “incessant, manipulative bullying”.

During an interview with a US TV show, the singer was asked if she would consider re-recording her old material so she could own the new versions.

She replied: “Oh, yeah.”

Asked if that is what she plans to do, she added: “Yeah, absolutely.”

Taylor had been singed to Big Machine since her music career started as a teen, and the label owned the rights to her first six albums, including 2008’s Fearless and 2014’s 1989.

In June, Scooter Braun company’s Ithaca Holdings announced that it had acquired Big Machine Records in a deal believed to be worth around £237 million, meaning he owned the master recordings of all of Taylor’s previous releases.

Taylor signed with Universal Music Group in November last year, in a deal ensuring she maintained the rights to her work.

Scooter hasn’t directly responded to Taylor’s comments, choosing to sidestep the backlash he’d faced from her in his first interview about the deal.

He has, however, received public support from his clients Justin Bieber and Demi Lovato, while his wife Yael Cohen has also jumped to his defence.

She wrote on Instagram: “The world has watched you collect and drop friends like wilted flowers. My husband is anything but a bully, he’s spent his life standing up for people and causes he believes in.”
