I Didn't Get The Grades I Wanted - The Next Step

Life has plenty of bumps on the road. It's what you do next that matters. You could of course drown in your sorrow or you can pick yourself up and move on. It's not an easy thing; rejection or underachieving, when you feel your not good enough, or you didn't preform your best. It can hit you at the core of your being, and you may feel like a failure

A lot of students are still recovering from A - level result day. For some pupils it was the scariest day of their life. The moment which determines your life's path. You dreamed all the way through secondary school that you were going to be a vet, coder, engineer, educator, doctor, etc.. Some people will be happy that they got their place in college, and super congrats to them, but for the ones who didn't and feel devastated; Don't worry! It's not the end of the world. My advice is don't be too upset if you didn't make the grade. You can always try again, and maybe it just wasn't for you.

YOU ARE NOT!

We all make mistakes and do things wrong it's apart of the learning curve of life.

It could take a few days for you to recover, but you will, as they say "and this too shall pass". When life bites you in the back, bite back. Don't let a grade sheet determine who you are. You have to believe that this is not the end, it's just the start of a brand new journey. If you want something bad enough, then you have to fight for it.

There is a lot of wisdom in the saying of the survival of the fittest, or survival of the 'fighters'.

The Next Step

Pick Yourself Up

We can't change the past, but you can change the future. Tomorrow is another day. Pick up your boots and move on. Of course it's harder said then done, but believe in yourself, you can do it.

Finding Your Ground

Ok, so you never got the place in college or the grades you wanted. Look at your options. Write down what you really want. Then look at ways of achieving it. If it's down to subject failure, then just repeat. The year will go so fast, and I would highly recommend you get a tutor in your free time.

Step up your game. Work harder and spend more time studying.

College Choices

You didn't get your preference choice. Start to research other opportunities of administration. It may be possible to do an online course.

Another alternative is you can study your course in a different university or even a different country.

Be Nice To Yourself

Experiencing failure it's always important to be nice to oneself. Suggestions: spa, holiday resort, play music, go dancing, whatever 'rocks your boat.' Be positive with yourself, and of course do anything to build your confidence up again. Read a book or you could even get yourself a positivity pack.

Surround Yourself With Positive People

Positivity reaps positivity. Being around positive people really lifts your spirits. People who understand how you feel and see your good qualities, and can help you in many ways.

Don't Worry Be Happy

Life is too short to be down. You only have one life so make the most of it. Time is precious, and we have to spend it well.
