Nokia has announced a serious play to win back smart phone customers, with the announcement at CES of the striking new Nokia Lumia 900.

The big brother to the recently released Nokia 800, the 900 cements the return of Nokia to a market that the company once dominated.

The latest windows phone from the Finnish maker is an LTE phone, which means you can download MP3s and surf the web at lightning-fast speeds.

The phone packs a large 4.3 inch amoled display, ideal for watching video or playing games.

An 8 megapixel Carl Zeiss lens is substantial, and a front-facing camera makes the now ubiquitous video calls a breeze.

The CES announcement makes it clear that the phone will be released in the US first, with the rest of the world to follow.

If the Nokia 900 is anything like the Nokia Lumia 800, it will sit beautifully in the hand. If you like the Windows OS and the way the 800 navigation works, then you should be excited.
