A murder investigation is under way after a 19-year-old man was stabbed to death in a village street.
Officers were called to Marsden near Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, shortly after midnight yesterday.
They found two men, aged 18 and 19, who had both been stabbed.
The pair were rushed to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary but the 19-year-old later died from his injuries.
The younger man remains in hospital in a serious condition.
Two men aged 36 and 21 have been arrested in relation to the incident and are being held in police custody.
Police believe the incident took place in the Manchester Road, Town Gate, Old Mount Road area of the village.
Detective Superintendent Paul Taylor of the West Yorkshire Police homicide and major inquiry team said yesterday: "I am keen to speak to anyone who witnessed these assaults.
"Were you out and about in Marsden late night or early this morning and saw what happened? If so I need to speak to you urgently.
"Marsden is a close-knit community and if anyone hears any rumours about what has happened then I would ask them to get in touch."
Any witnesses are asked to call police on 101.
