Yes, the Iron Lady passed away this week - and of course Twitter cracked its knuckles and set to work making jokes.

We rounded up some of the gentler gags about her passing on Tuesday - and the collection below includes a few of those as well as comments on the funeral, the MPs' debate in the House of Commons and the fact that 'Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead' looks set to be number one in the iTunes chart this Sunday. The internet hasn't reached 'Thatcheration point' yet, it seems.

Thatcher's death wasn't the only news event this week, though. No, really. A teenager called Paris Brown did something daft, apologised for it, and was sacked. North Korea continued to flex its muscles. Bute was found in Asda corned beef, and the Grand National was run (those last two events aren't, as far as we know, related).
