Kelvin Campbell

Chair, Smart Urbanism; Professor, CASA University College London

Kelvin Campbell is both a rational optimist and terminally dissatisfied contrarian. As chair of Smart Urbanism, Visiting Professor at the Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis at the Bartlett, University College of London, and a Fellow in the Built Environment with the Royal Commission, he takes the view that we can do better in our pursuit of resilient cities and towns capable of responding to the ‘new normal’. His attitude, by challenging the established conventions, has seen his contribution to new urban theory and practice being recognised by his urban design profession with a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013.

Kelvin is the author of 'Massive Small: The operating system for Smart Urbanism' and 'Re:urbanism' (both available on request)
