Pamela is a Labour councillor in the London Borough of Harrow. She has worked in the voluntary sector for nearly 30 years primarily representing claimants in their social security appeals. She has lectured and written extensively on social security rights and on poverty. In the past she has been a trustee of the Women's Budget Group and was a member of the Social Security Advisory Committee. She is a Unite member and was a shop steward for two decades.
