Beluga whale

A pair of seasoned performers have received a warm welcome in Iceland. Beluga whales Little Grey and Little White previously lived at an aquarium in Shanghai, China. They will be the first to inhabit a sanctuary for formerly captive marine mammals, off Iceland’s southern coast.
Fishermen off the coast of Norway reported beluga whales to officials after discovering they were wearing harnesses bearing the words "Equipment of St Petersburg". This is not the first time that sea mammals have been trained by military bodies. The Soviet Union had a dolphin programme which was later transferred to the Ukraine government and the US have been training dolphins to find mines for years.
The animal was wearing a harness and tried to pull ropes from a boat.
Experts have also issued advice for would-be whale-watchers.
Animal welfare groups are working to identify a possible beluga whale which has found its way to the Thames river, which flows through London and Oxford. The public have been told to keep away from the animal.
