The bottom line is, I may have found the situation with the driver amusing, but a lot of female friends I spoke with immediately said they would be scared or disturbed if they received a message like the one I did. It's not something you hear that often, particularly not from someone like me who spent most of their free time at university working for a traditional student paper.
