Midfield players who go in where it hurts to make tackles and interceptions are often described as brave but such a label seems hardly appropriate for John Obi Mikel, who played 90 minutes for Chelsea on Sunday in the knowledge that his father had been reported missing and has now been confirmed as having been abducted.
