Scotland Defends Tuition Fees Policy As Human Rights Lawyer Mounts Bid

The Scottish Government has defended students from the rest of the UK tuition fees, after a human rights lawyer warned he intends to mount a legal challenge to the controversial policy.

Phil Shiner, of Public Interest Lawyers, is reportedly preparing to argue that the policy breaches discrimination rules under the European Convention on Human Rights and may also breach the UK Equality Act.
