Can 'Phoenix Nights' Emulate 'Inbetweeners' Big Screen Success?

PRESS ASSOCIATION -- Peter Kay has revealed Phoenix Nights is set for the big-screen treatment.

According to the funnyman, who has already written a script, offers have been pouring in and film producers are said to be keen on the idea, which will follow in the footsteps of The Inbetweeners Movie.

"It's written, I've written it. It's done. They've even asked me, with this Inbetweeners film, if you want to make a film of it," he told Real Radio North West.

"The biggest problem is getting everyone together," he added.

Kay famously fell out with the show's co-creator David Spikey, who felt that Kay took all of the credit.

38-year-old Kay also revealed his spin-off series with Paddy McGuinness, Max And Paddy, could be adapted into movies.

"Me and Paddy have written two Christmas specials that could be films," he said.
