Rumours that Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has had "surgical enhancement" hit Twitter over the weekend after the presidential candidate appeared at a party congress looking surprisingly wrinkle-free and suspiciously wide-eyed.
It is possible that Putin, the current prime minister and former president, felt a fresh-faced look was in order for this year. Having just announced his ambition to run again for leadership in 2012 the former KGB agent may want to prove his presidential panache and youthful vigour. Not only that - if he's successful next year Putin could be president until he is 72.
