Veteran DJ and broadcaster Jimmy Savile died on Saturday aged 84, just two days short of his 85th birthday.
Politicians, celebrities and fellow broadcasters took to Twitter to pay tribute to Savile, best known as the presenter of 'Top of the Pops' and his long-running 'Jim'll Fix It' TV programme.
Among those paying tribute were comedian Ricky Gervais, impressionist Rory Bremner, Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles, Channel 4 News presenter Krishnan Guru-Murthy, businessman Lord Sugar and former deputy prime minister John Prescott.
