I'm A Celebrity: Freddie Starr Rushed To Hospital After Suffering Severe Allergic Reaction

Freddie Starr Rushed To Hospital

I'm A Celebrity contestant Freddie Starr has been rushed to hospital after suffering a severe allergic reaction in the jungle.

The comic joined the series a day after the other celebrities - following an insurance problem - but has already been taken ill.

Doctors were called to check on him after he started feeling sick following the Greasy Spoon Bushtucker Trial in which he was forced to eat pig's anus, mice tails and crocodile feet.

An ITV spokesman told The Daily Mail: "Freddie Starr was taken unwell in the jungle. He was immediately attended to by on-site medics and taken to hospital where he was assessed by doctors.

"He will remain in hospital overnight as a precaution, and further tests continue. However, Freddie is in great spirits and keeping nursing staff entertained."

Freddie is due to stay in hospital for 24 hours as doctors are currently unsure what caused the reaction and say it could be anything he had come into contact with in the jungle.

An insider told The Sun: "This was a real shock to everyone, but doctors have said it is highly unlikely his reaction is related to any pre-existing condition, cardiac or otherwise.

"It is most likely he had a severe allergic reaction to something in the jungle.

"It is such an alien environment that doctors have advised they might never find out exactly what caused it, as it could be anything from a spider, a snake, a tick or a leech or even just a tree.

"They have tested for most things and tests will continue."
