A pilot has had a miraculous escape after his helicopter crashed into the ground in Auckland, New Zealand, while viewers watched live on TV.
Greg Gribble was using the B2 Squirrel helicopter to set up a Christmas Tree in the city on Wednesday morning. But as he was descending one of the helicopter blades appeared to strike a cable, causing the crash.
Landing on its end, the helicopter it was broken in half while its blades snapped off as Gribble was thrown around the cockpit. Despite the extreme turbulence, the pilot emerged from the crash with nothing more than a slight limp.
