These remarkable pictures show Farhad Darya, better know as the 'Afghan Elvis', entertaining legions of loyal female fans, despite fear of reprisals from the music-banning Taliban.
When not shaking his hips on stage, Darya, a multi-lingual performer, works as a UN goodwill ambassador to his homeland.
He regularly plays to packed-out concerts, recently entertaining fans at the Amani high school in Kabul (pictured).

The 49-year-old crooner, who has been performing since the eighties, boasts a fan-base that stretches from the Middle East to Pakistan - all eager to hear his mix of traditional Ghazal music and pop.
