John Terry: Prosecutors Receive File On Alleged Racist Slur

Scotland Yard has passed a file on John Terry's alleged racial slur towards Anton Ferdinand to prosecutors, the Crown Prosecution Service has said.

The Chelsea and England captain denies making the comments during a game between Chelsea and QPR at Loftus Road on October 23.

After the games, videos circulated on the internet, with some claiming the footage shows Terry using racist language.

Following the allegations, Terry released a statement that said:

"I've seen that there's a lot of comments on the internet with regards to some video footage of me during the game.

"I'm disappointed that people have leapt to the wrong conclusions about the context of what I was seen to be saying to Anton Ferdinand.

"I would never say such a thing, and I'm saddened that people would think so."

The CPS has confirmed that it has received a file about Terry and is considering whether to press charges.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "A 30-year-old man was interviewed under caution on Friday.

"Police were notified of an incident on Sunday 23 October involving alleged racial abuse.

"This is currently being assessed by officers from Hammersmith and Fulham."
