Simon Cowell and Nicole Scherzinger tried desperately to put the rumours they'd fallen out to bed as they puckered up at an X Factor USA press conference yesterday.
The stars of the US flop show turned out in LA to discuss the finale of the talent show, which takes place later this week.
But Simon need not worry about the show's (lack of) success as it looks as if he could have a new career as a stand-up comedian if Nicole's reaction to his wisecracks are anything to go by.
The pair looked as thought they were having a rip-roaring time on the red carpet as Si cracked a few jokes, with Nicole taking the opportunity to split her sides at her boss's one liners.
As far as we can remember Simon's always been about the dry wit rather than the proper belly-lolz.
But given that he'd previously told her to 'get lost', said he couldn't wait for a voodoo doll of her to be made and admitted he wished he hired Kelly Rowland for the US show instead, Nicole couldn't possibly be trying to keep him on side or anything...
Whatever is going on between them here, it looks like Simon's got a whole lot more love for Nicole right now than he does for host Steve Jones, who is - if reports today are to be believed - set to be axed from the show.
Also sashaying her way down the red carpet was fellow judge Paula Adbul wearing a pinstripe trouser suit she'd pulled out from the back of her wardrobe, circa 1987.
More worrying though was the diamante encrusted Pepsi can she was using as a handbag.
You can never say Auntie Paula doesn't keep it classy.
Meanwhile in the press conference itself, Simon - who is set to return to Britain's Got Talent - admitted he had been 'cocky' about how successful he thought the show would be in America.
The X Factor has pulled in figures of between eight and 12 million viewers for it's first series in the US - half that of his previous show American Idol.
"I think I probably came here a little too cocky, but I am cocky by nature. I had come off the back of a massive hit in the UK, had the adrenaline and couldn't wait to put the show on here, and it is going to take a little longer than I thought," he said.
