Have yourself a mild little Christmas, because UK weather looks set to be kind to Britons over the festive period.
However there will be no excuse not to go for a walk after the Christmas bird, because with temperatures forecast between 8C and 12C degrees, some Brits might not even need a coat.
There will be no frost at night time either, as westerly flow of air from the Atlantic continues to spread warmth across the sceptred isle.
The temperate weather will be experienced across the whole of the UK, from north yorkshire to plymouth. Scotland is expected to be a little colder, but there will be no white Christmas for the UK.
Bookmakers have slashed their odds, with William Hill noting that odds for a white CHristmas have drifted to the longest price for almost 20 years.
"It is odds against a White Christmas but it does not stop a few romantic people placed a bet on snow more in hope than genuine expectation," Hills spokesman Rupert Adams told Sky News.
The mild temperatures will continue well beyond Christmas, as the Met Office suggests that the cosy climate will only alter sometime between Wednesday and Friday next week.
December warmth is in sharp contrast to last year, which saw high pressure air from eastern and north eastern Europe heralding in sub zero temperatures and heavy snowfall.
However the weather may get worse before it gets better. A cold front means that a band of rain could hit on Friday or Saturday, with particularly heavy rainfall for north west Scotland.
